With the rapid development of education informatization in my country, the learning space is also evolving. One of the government bill just mentioned that it is necessary to promote the classroom teaching revolution, actively promote small class teaching, blended teaching, and flipped classrooms, vigorously promote the construction of smart classrooms, and build online and offline combined teaching mode. More and more schools are carrying out research on the effective use of teaching space, and classroom renovation during the winter and summer vacations has become a major action for colleges and universities to respond to educational reforms.

Recently, LBD Office and PIVOT's i·Sound™ Acoustics Team jointly served the Corpus Smart Classroom of Shanghai International Studies University Songjiang Campus, and the project was successfully completed.

Rendering design of the 30 person smart classroom

Pivot i·sound acoustics team uses laboratory equipment to collect and analyze language data and behavior data generated in classroom teaching, and designs teaching programs based on data analysis results to optimize classroom teaching and improve teaching quality, thereby promoting the development of smart education. The designers of LBD Office boldly transformed the original space with low utilization rate into a smart classroom for 30 people, a smart classroom for 36 people, and a tea bar for teachers and students to rest and discuss, improving space utilization and creating an effective support for wisdom Educational learning space.

Classrooms are mainly language-based acoustic spaces, which have high requirements for language intelligibility. The space design focused on the acoustic features including speech clarity and sound insulation.

Noise insulation standards

During the implement process, it was found that the large glass surface can be used for flexible discussion and writing, but it has a significant impact on the sound quality of the classroom, the reverberation time is long, and the voice clarity is not up to the ideal state. Therefore, the classroom space adopts the advertised acoustic scheme design service and uses iMicro® grid ceiling to apply to the top surface, the sound absorption area is increased by 46 linear meters, and the low-frequency reverberation time is significantly reduced.
